Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 7, 2026

No cookies. No cross-site tracking.

ZAK Sound does not set any cookies in your browser, and we do not share data with advertisers or data brokers. We do measure how well our own ads perform — but only via privacy-respecting methods, and only with your permission if you visit from the EU/EEA/UK.

What this means

Most websites you visit set dozens of cookies — small files used to track who you are, what you do, and where you go after you leave. Many of these are placed by third-party advertisers and analytics platforms that follow you across the web.

We've built ZAK Sound differently. We don't use Google Analytics, the Facebook Pixel, or any other in-browser ad tracker, and we don't set any cookies in your browser. There is nothing on this site that follows you to other websites.

We do measure how well our own ads perform, because that's how we keep the lights on. We do that in two ways, both of which avoid cookies:

  • Anonymous analytics via Umami, which is fully cookieless and doesn't store IP addresses.
  • Server-to-server conversion events sent to Meta via the Conversions API when you complete a purchase. No browser cookies are involved. For EU/EEA/UK visitors this only happens with your explicit consent; for visitors elsewhere it runs by default and can be opted out at any time from Cookie Settings.

We also remember which affiliate or marketing link first brought you here, so partners get fairly credited if you buy. That information is stored locally in your browser only — never shared with anyone else.

What we do store in your browser

To make the store work, we keep a few small items in your browser's local storage. These are not cookies, are never sent to third parties, and exist only to deliver the service you asked for. Under EU ePrivacy law these are exempt from consent because they're strictly necessary.

Cart identifier

So your shopping cart survives a page refresh and you don't lose what you added. Stored in localStorage.

Affiliate / UTM tag

If you arrive via an affiliate link, we remember the affiliate code so the partner gets credited if you buy. For EU/EEA/UK visitors who haven't opted in, this lives in sessionStorage and dies when you close the tab. For everyone else (and for EU visitors who do opt in), it's stored in localStorage for up to 30 days so partners are still credited if you come back later. The data never leaves your browser and is never shared with third parties.

Login session

Standard authentication data so you stay signed in to your account between visits.

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that tells us which pages are popular and where visitors come from. Umami does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across websites.

Ad measurement (Meta CAPI)

When you complete a purchase, we may send a "Purchase" event to Meta's Conversions API so we can measure how well our Facebook and Instagram ads are performing. The data sent is limited to: a hashed (SHA-256) version of your email address, your country, your postcode, the order value, and the currency. No raw personal data is transmitted, and no cookies are set in your browser as part of this process.

For visitors in the EU/EEA/UK: this only happens if you explicitly opt in via our cookie banner. If you don't, no data is sent to Meta.

For visitors elsewhere: the event is sent under our legitimate interest in measuring ad performance. You can opt out at any time via Cookie Settings.

Embedded videos

Product demo videos are embedded via youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. No cookies are set until you actively press play. If you do play a video, YouTube's own privacy policy then applies.

Checkout

When you click Checkout, you are taken to our payment processor's secure checkout page. That page is operated by Moonbase, Stripe, PayPal, or a regional provider depending on your method, and may set cookies under their own policies. We never see your payment details.
