Raizes
Raizes Player & Instruments
What is the Raizes Player?
Raizes Player is ZAK Sound's free plugin engine that powers all Raizes instruments (Tango, Lyra, Asteroid, Ethersphere, Auralis, Nebula Keys, BA, and more). Think of it as the host app — you install Raizes Player once, then load any Raizes instrument inside it.
It runs as a VST3, AU, or Standalone application and includes a powerful sound design engine with 6 layers, 36 FX slots, a full modulation system, and custom arpeggiators.

Is the Raizes Player free? Where do I download it?
Yes, the Raizes Player is completely free. You can download it from the Raizes page. After installing, sign in with your ZAK Sound account and your purchased instruments will be available to download directly from within the player.
How do I install a Raizes instrument after purchasing?
After purchasing, follow these steps:
- Download and install the Raizes Player from the Raizes page if you haven't already.
- Open Raizes Player (standalone or inside your DAW).
- Sign in with your ZAK Sound account — your purchased instruments will appear in the library.
- Click the download icon next to any instrument to install it. No separate download files needed.
Which DAWs and formats does Raizes support?
Raizes Player works in all major DAWs as:
- VST3 — Windows and macOS
- AU — macOS only (Logic Pro, GarageBand, etc.)
- Standalone — use without a DAW
Does Raizes work on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)?
Yes. Raizes Player runs natively on Apple Silicon as well as Intel Macs. Minimum macOS version is 10.11. No Rosetta required on M-series chips.
Does Raizes work on Linux?
Yes. Raizes Player is available as a VST3 and Standalone for Linux. Minimum requirement is Ubuntu 22.04 or equivalent.
What's the difference between Raizes Player and a Raizes instrument?
The Raizes Player is the free engine/host — it handles the synthesis, effects, modulation, and plugin formats. Raizes instruments (like Tango, Asteroid, Lyra, etc.) are the individual sound libraries that load inside the player. You need the player to use any instrument; the instruments each bring their own unique sound sources and presets.
Do I need an internet connection to use Raizes?
Raizes Player can run without an internet connection. To see and install your purchased instruments, you need to sign in once so the player can fetch your library. After that, you can keep using Raizes and your installed instruments offline. The player will quietly refresh your library in the background whenever you're online again.
Do Raizes instruments support MPE (MIDI Polyphonic Expression)?
Raizes Player works with MPE controllers. Currently, expression (pitch bend, pressure, slide) is applied globally rather than per note. Some instruments include MPE preset categories optimised for expressive playing with these controllers.
Where can I find the full Raizes documentation?
The complete Raizes Player manual is available at raizes-documentation. It covers installation, activation, the layer system, FX, modulation, arpeggiators, and more.
The player says an instrument failed to download. What do I do?
Try the following:
- Check your internet connection and try again.
- Make sure you have enough disk space for the instrument.
- Sign out and back in to your ZAK Sound account inside the player.
- Restart Raizes Player and retry the download.
Third-Party
Third-Party Raizes Instruments
What are third-party Raizes instruments?
Some independent developers build instruments that run inside the Raizes Player, just like ZAK Sound's own instruments. Once redeemed, they appear in your Raizes library and work exactly the same way — same engine, same FX, same workflow.
How do I add a third-party Raizes instrument to my account?
You'll receive a license key after purchasing from the developer. You can redeem it in two ways:
- From the web: Go to your Account page → "Redeem Code", enter the key, and the instrument will appear in your Raizes library.
- From within Raizes Player: Open the library view and click "Redeem Code", then enter your key directly there.
Do I need anything beyond the Raizes Player to use third-party instruments?
No — just the free Raizes Player. Third-party instruments use the same engine as all ZAK Sound instruments, so there's nothing extra to install.
I have an issue with a third-party instrument. Who do I contact?
For issues specific to the instrument's sounds or content, reach out to the developer directly. For anything related to the Raizes Player itself (crashes, activation, library not loading), contact us at support@zaksound.com.
Plugins
Virtual Instruments & Effects
Do standalone plugins require the Raizes Player?
No. Plugins like Skyridge, Arctic Spaces, Orange Dreams 2, Sapphire Guitar 2, Endless Clouds 2, Sierras Altas 2, Downtown Grand Piano, Deep Waters, and Particles are self-contained — they install and run independently without any additional software.
Which plugin formats are supported?
All standalone ZAK Sound plugins support:
- VST3 — Windows and macOS
- AU — macOS only
What are the system requirements?
Windows: Windows 7 or later (64-bit), 4–8 GB RAM depending on the plugin.
macOS: macOS 10.11 or later, Intel or Apple Silicon, 4–8 GB RAM. All plugins run natively on M-series chips.
Check each product page for exact requirements.

An internet connection is only needed for this initial activation. After that, the plugin works offline.

First, rescan plugins in your DAW settings. If still not found:
- Make sure your DAW is scanning the correct VST3 folder (see paths above).
- Confirm your DAW supports VST3 (most modern DAWs do). AU is macOS-only.
- Try restarting your DAW after rescanning.
- On macOS, check that the plugin is not blocked by Gatekeeper — go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and allow the plugin if prompted.
Where can I find the plugin manual?
Product manuals are available as PDF downloads on each product page. Look for the "Manual" button or link at the bottom of the page. Manuals are also included in the installer package.
Are plugin interfaces resizable?
Yes — all paid ZAK Sound plugins have a fully resizable UI. Drag from the bottom-right corner (or use the resize handle) to scale the interface to fit your screen. A few of our free plugins use a fixed size.
Do you offer demo or trial versions?
We don't offer time-limited trials at the moment. However, several of our plugins have free versions you can use forever — see the Free page for the current list. Each product page also includes audio demos and video walkthroughs so you can hear what the plugin does before buying.
How do plugin updates work? Are they free?
Yes — all updates within a major version are free for life. Whenever a new update is released, we'll email you so you can download the latest installer from your Account page.
Major version upgrades (for example, going from "v1" to "v2") are sold as separate products and are not included with the original purchase. Existing customers may receive a loyalty discount on major upgrades when available.

Licensing
Licensing
How many computers can I use my license on?
You can activate your license on multiple computers for personal use. If you need to deactivate a machine, contact us at support@zaksound.com.
Do licenses expire?
No. All ZAK Sound licenses are perpetual — once you purchase a product, it's yours forever, including all future updates.
Can I use ZAK Sound products in commercial projects?
Yes. All ZAK Sound instruments and effects are licensed for use in commercial music, film, TV, games, and other media. You retain full ownership of the music you create.
Are the sounds royalty-free? Can I sell music made with them?
Yes — all sounds in ZAK Sound instruments and plugins are royalty-free for use in your own music. You can release tracks on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, sell them, place them in films, games, ads, sync libraries, etc. without paying us anything beyond the purchase price.
The only thing you can't do is redistribute the raw samples or presets themselves (e.g. selling them as part of a sample pack). For instruments that include built-in arpeggiators or MIDI sequences, the audio output is fully royalty-free — but the underlying MIDI patterns belong to your project, you're responsible for what you do with them.
